Origami Strawberry
Fold a pointed strawberry with a three-leaf crown and tapered shoulders. One original corner is shortened before the square base closes, so its hidden fold is prepared in the open. Add optional seed dots to finish.

PREPARATION · Origami Club strawberry; disclosed pre-folded tip preparation
Prepare the diamond
Place a square with a corner up and the fruit color down.
Layers: One uncut square.
Check: The four corners point up, down, left and right.

Mark the first midpoint crease
Bring the lower-right edge onto the upper-left edge and crease between the other edge midpoints.
Layers: Move the whole lower-right half.
Check: Both edge endpoints match.

Open the first guide
Unfold completely.
Layers: Return the same half.
Check: The diamond is flat.

Mark the crossing midpoint crease
Bring the lower-left edge onto the upper-right edge and crease.
Layers: Move the whole lower-left half.
Check: The new crease crosses the first at the center.

Open the crossing guide
Unfold completely again.
Layers: Return the same half.
Check: Two sloping guides cross at center.

Turn to the fruit color
Turn the whole sheet over, keeping a point at the top.
Layers: Carry the entire sheet.
Check: The fruit color faces you.

Mark the corner-to-corner guide
Bring the bottom point to the top point and crease the horizontal diagonal.
Layers: Move the whole lower half.
Check: The side points mark the hinge ends.

Open the diagonal
Return the lower half to the table.
Layers: Open the same half fully.
Check: All three guides cross at center.

Turn back for the base
Turn the entire square over again.
Layers: Carry every part of the sheet.
Check: The fruit color faces down.

Prepare the hidden corner fold
Mark a horizontal line 1.17 inches below the upper point. Fold that point down toward the center on this line. Keep this small fold closed while forming the base.
Layers: Move the small upper tip only. This prepares the later hidden front-tip fold in the open.
Check: The top corner is shortened without tucking it between other layers.

Close the square base
Hold the lower diamond panel. Bring the side corners inward and the upper panels down along the prepared guides. Let the shortened tip travel with its original panels.
Layers: The side panels close together; keep the small prepared tip folded.
Check: A smaller layered diamond has its shortened front corner at the bottom.

Rotate the base half a turn
Rotate the entire packet 180 degrees in the plane of the table; do not turn it over.
Layers: Carry all layers together.
Check: The original corners are at the top; the closed berry point is at the bottom.

Fold the left crown leaf
The prepared front edge crosses the centerline 1.17 inches below the upper point. On the upper-left slope, mark 1.90 inches from the left side corner toward the top point. Fold the loose left page down along the line joining this mark to the center crossing.
Layers: Move both joined layers of the left inner page; keep the broad front berry and other pages still.
Check: A pointed leaf lies on the upper-left berry.

Fold the right crown leaf
Mirror the mark and fold on the right inner page.
Layers: Move both joined right-page layers; leave the left leaf and backing still.
Check: Two pointed leaves lie apart above the berry.

Taper the left shoulder behind
From the left side corner, mark 1.75 inches along the upper diagonal and 0.75 inch along the lower diagonal. Fold the outer-left packet behind on the line joining those marks.
Layers: Carry every layer outside this line, leaving the leaf tips on the front.
Check: The upper-left shoulder narrows toward the crown.

Taper the right shoulder behind
Mirror the steep shoulder line on the right and fold the outer packet behind.
Layers: Carry the complete outer-right packet.
Check: The berry is broad below its narrow crown and still points down.

Lower the center leaf
Fold the remaining top point toward you along a horizontal line 0.85 inch below it. Carry any tiny adjacent tips above the line together.
Layers: Move the whole top packet above the line; retain both long side leaves.
Check: A third leaf points down from a straight crown edge.

Add optional seeds
Draw a few small seed dots on the broad fruit below the leaves. Keep the strawberry flat for a card or picture.
Layers: No new fold; dots are optional ink.
Check: Three folded leaves sit above a tapered, pointed berry.

Adaptation: Uses a six-inch square and the same square-base and three-leaf fruit construction. Instead of the source two separate pocket squashes, three prepared guide creases close as one connected square base. The source rearward front-tip fold is performed on its original corner before that base closes; the folded tip is carried inside with its parent panels, not pushed through hidden layers. Each leaf crease joins the top crossing to a point 1.90 inches along the upper diagonal from the side corner. Shoulder creases join marks 1.75 inches along the upper diagonal and 0.75 inch along the lower diagonal from each side corner. The final crown fold is at 0.60 of the half-height. Exact marks, separated paired folds and the earlier open preparation are authored adaptations; the fruit remains flat.
