PREPARATION · Origami Club Easy Puppy; measured shaping landmarks

    Prepare the square

Place the square with horizontal edges and the intended ear color up. Mark the midpoints of the top and bottom edges lightly.

    Layers: One uncut sheet.

Check: The two marks line up through the center.

STEP 1 · Origami Club Easy Puppy; measured shaping landmarks

    Fold the bottom half up

Bring the bottom edge up to the top edge and crease across the middle.

Layers: Move the entire lower half.

Check: A wide two-layer rectangle has its closed edge at the bottom.

STEP 2 · Origami Club Easy Puppy; measured shaping landmarks

    Shape the seated body

On the closed lower edge, mark 1.5 inches left of center. On the upper edge mark 1.5 inches right of center. Fold the upper-left part toward you along the diagonal joining these marks.

Layers: Carry both layers, including their joined lower edge.

Check: A level-bottomed body extends below the right-hand head panel.

STEP 3 · Origami Club Easy Puppy; measured shaping landmarks

    Lower the long head

On the sloping upper-left edge mark a point 2.4 inches above the old closed-edge level. Join it to a mark on the right-hand lower edge 2.5 inches right of the old center. Fold the upper-right packet down and left along this line.

Layers: Carry every layer of the head; keep the seated body still.

Check: A sloping muzzle projects beyond the body.

STEP 4 · Origami Club Easy Puppy; measured shaping landmarks

    Turn over the front ear

Through the highest corner of the folded head, make a vertical crease. Fold only the front small triangle on the left of this line toward the right.

Layers: Move the front head layer only; leave its matching rear layer still.

Check: One triangular ear lies on the head, above the body.

STEP 5 · Origami Club Easy Puppy; measured shaping landmarks

Draw the puppy’s eye and nose

Add an oval eye on the head and a dark nose at the muzzle tip. Keep the whole puppy flat for a card or picture.

Layers: No new fold; facial marks are optional ink.

Check: The folded ear and long muzzle sit above a complete seated body.

Adaptation: Retains all source operations: lower half up, whole double-layer diagonal body fold, whole head fold, front-layer ear and drawn face. Uses a 6-inch square with authored shaping marks: the body diagonal joins points 1.5 inches to either side of center on opposite rectangle edges; the head line meets the upper body slope 2.4 inches above the rectangle hinge and the lower edge 2.5 inches right of center. The ear hinge is vertical through the new top head corner. These repeatable proportions are authored rather than exact source measurements. The finished puppy is a flat seated picture; no standing behavior or separately articulated legs are implied.

Accuracy notes

Real-paper follow-along and paper weight have not been tested. Diagrams illustrate the sequence, not paper thickness, contact, collisions or exact layer visibility. One uncut 36-square-inch sheet, complete double-layer body/head packets and a single front-layer ear. Shared geometry drives static, interactive, hero and PDF diagrams. Zero-thickness teaching diagrams do not certify finite thickness, retention or physical folding. Real-paper folding has not been tested.
