PREPARATION · Origami Club linked construction diagram

    Prepare the diamond

Place the square with a point at the top, intended outside color facing down. This practice sleeve is for slim chopsticks; check the fit before use.

    Layers: One uncut square.

Check: The top and bottom points are vertically aligned.

  2. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldCrease between the side points

STEP 1 · Origami Club linked construction diagram

    Crease between the side points

Fold the square in half between the side points, matching the opposite edges or points. Press the fold.

Layers: Move the complete half of the sheet.

Check: The opposite edges or points coincide.

  3. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldReopen between the side points

STEP 2 · Origami Club linked construction diagram

    Reopen between the side points

Unfold completely along the crease you just made.

Layers: Return the same half to the table.

Check: The sheet is flat again.

  4. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldLower the top point

STEP 3 · Origami Club linked construction diagram

    Lower the top point

Measure 1.41 inches down from the top point. Fold the small triangle down along a horizontal line through that mark.

Layers: Move only the top triangle.

Check: A flat opening edge replaces the top point.

  5. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldWrap the left half across

STEP 4 · Origami Club linked construction diagram

    Wrap the left half across

Fold the left half to the right on the center crease.

Layers: Carry the left half of the top hem as well as the main sheet.

Check: A doubled triangle points right beneath the shortened top.

  6. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldWrap the right section behind

STEP 5 · Origami Club linked construction diagram

    Wrap the right section behind

Mark a vertical line 1.41 inches right of the center crease. Fold the entire outer right section behind on that line.

Layers: Carry both triangle layers and any hem material in the section.

Check: The long right edge is straight; a triangular flap projects to the left.

  7. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldClose the projecting side flap

STEP 6 · Origami Club linked construction diagram

    Close the projecting side flap

Fold the projecting left triangle behind along the original vertical center line. Keep the narrow central strip still.

Layers: Move all paper to the left of that line, not the entire sleeve.

Check: The sleeve is a narrow strip with parallel sides.

  8. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldClose the bottom

STEP 7 · Origami Club linked construction diagram

    Close the bottom

Measure 1.41 inches up from the bottom point. Fold the entire pointed bottom behind on that horizontal line. Press the crease firmly. Slide slim chopsticks into the open top between the walls, without forcing them.

Layers: Carry every layer below the mark. The upper lip stays open.

Check: The bottom is closed by a folded flap; the top remains an opening.

Adaptation: Source Chopsticks Case1 steps 1–4 establish the vertical folds, 5 lowers the top, 6–8 wrap the sides and close the bottom. This centered adaptation uses a true half crease, a right-hand crease one third of the half-diagonal from center, and a second outer-tip fold at center; the source leaves a narrow offset seam. Ruler landmarks replace the source’s preliminary side-fold rehearsal. The sleeve is shown flat: inserting separate chopsticks is a use instruction, not simulated paper motion.

Accuracy notes

Real-paper follow-along and paper weight have not been tested. Diagrams illustrate the sequence, not paper thickness, contact, collisions or exact layer visibility. Continuous rigid-axis folds preserve all original material, including carried hidden layers. Measured landmarks and flat-use adaptations are stated in the source notes. Zero-thickness teaching diagrams do not certify paper contact, thickness, retention or physical usability. Real-paper folding has not been tested.
