PREPARATION · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

    Prepare the diamond

Place a 6-inch square with a point at the top and the intended face color down. Blue and gold in the diagrams track material, not your paper colors.

    Layers: One uncut square.

Check: Top and bottom points line up.

  2. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldCrease the vertical center

STEP 1 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

    Crease the vertical center

Bring the right point to the left point.

Layers: Move the complete half sheet.

    Check: Opposite points coincide.

  3. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldOpen the vertical crease

STEP 2 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

    Open the vertical crease

Unfold completely and smooth the square.

Layers: Return the same half to the table.

    Check: The center crease remains.

  4. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldCrease the horizontal center

STEP 3 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

    Crease the horizontal center

Bring the top point to the bottom point.

Layers: Move the complete half sheet.

    Check: Opposite points coincide.

  5. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldOpen the horizontal crease

STEP 4 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

    Open the horizontal crease

Unfold completely and smooth the square.

Layers: Return the same half to the table.

    Check: The center crease remains.

  6. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldBring the right point to center

STEP 5 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

Bring the right point to center

Fold the right corner to the crossing of the two creases.

Layers: Move the right corner flap.

Check: Its tip touches the center.

  7. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldBring the left point to center

STEP 6 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

Bring the left point to center

Fold the left corner to the same crossing.

Layers: Move the left corner flap.

    Check: The two tips meet.

  8. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldFold the top down

STEP 7 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

    Fold the top down

Bring the top point to the bottom point.

Layers: Fold the entire upper half.

Check: The closed edge runs across the top.

  9. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldRaise the snout

STEP 8 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

    Raise the snout

Fold the bottom point upward along a horizontal line 3.18 inches below the top edge.

Layers: Carry the complete lower packet.

Check: The raised point reaches halfway down the face.

  10. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldFold down the snout tip

STEP 9 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

    Fold down the snout tip

Fold only the front raised tip down along a line 2.65 inches below the top edge. Keep the second raised point still.

Layers: Move the original bottom tip only; leave the raised original top tip behind it.

Check: A small diamond is visible at the bottom center.

  11. END STATEOriginal left: blue · right: goldFold the right ear down

STEP 10 · Origami Club diagram; measured shaping adaptation

    Fold the right ear down

Mark 0.85 inches inward along the top edge from the right corner and 0.85 inches down the right edge. Fold the corner toward you along the diagonal joining those marks.

Layers: Carry every layer of this corner.

Check: A triangular ear lies on the face.

Adaptation: Follows reference panels 1–7. Side points meet the center; the snout hinge is three quarters of the triangle height below the top. Its return fold is one eighth of that height above the hinge. The ear diagonals shorten each top corner by 0.85 inches. Both lower layers rise to form the snout; only the front raised tip folds down, leaving the second tip visible.

Accuracy notes

Real-paper follow-along and paper weight have not been tested. Diagrams illustrate the sequence, not paper thickness, contact, collisions or exact layer visibility. Rigid hinges retain the original material coordinates of one uncut square. Paired folds are separated and free shaping positions are specified with ruler landmarks. Zero-thickness teaching diagrams do not simulate thickness or certify physical foldability. Real-paper follow-along has not been tested.
