Cut & fold
Cut-and-fold Origami Pineapple
Make a flat pineapple with a broad fruit body and a crown of four folded points. One short slit separates the crown before its side flaps fold inward and rise. Optional rind lines decorate the finished paper; they do not create its shape.

Blue and gold track original left and right paper halves, not literal fruit colors. Darker shades show reverse faces. Orange marks folds; the labeled cut line ends at a stop dot. Rind lines in the final example are optional ink.

PREPARATION · Origami Club Pineapple
Prepare the diamond
Place the square with a point upward and the intended fruit color facing down. Set scissors aside until the marked cutting step.
Layers: One uncut square.
Check: The top and bottom corners align vertically.

Crease the center
Bring the right point to the left point and press the vertical crease.
Layers: Move the whole right half.
Check: The crease joins the top and bottom points.

Open the diamond
Return the right half fully to the table.
Layers: Open the same half.
Check: The center guide remains on a flat square.

Fold the lower right edge inward
Bring the lower right sloping edge onto the vertical center line. Start the fold at the bottom point.
Layers: Move the complete right corner flap.
Check: The old lower edge rests on the center.

Complete the lower kite
Bring the lower left edge to the same center line.
Layers: Move the matching left corner flap.
Check: The lower point is long and narrow.

Turn the kite over
Turn the whole packet over from side to side, keeping the long point down.
Layers: Turn every layer together.
Check: The plain back faces you.

Fold the upper right edge inward
Bring the upper right sloping edge onto the center line. Press through the layers.
Layers: Move all layers of the upper-right packet.
Check: The upper point becomes narrow.

Fold the upper left edge inward
Match the upper left edge to the center beside the first fold.
Layers: Move the full upper-left packet.
Check: A narrow pointed diamond remains.

Flatten the fruit base
Mark a horizontal line 1.91 inches (about 4.85 cm) above the bottom tip. Fold the entire lower tip upward on that line.
Layers: Carry every layer below the mark.
Check: A short flat base replaces the lower point.

Cut the crown slit
On the vertical center, measure 2.55 inches (about 6.47 cm) down from the top tip and mark the stop. Cut straight from the tip to that stop through all layers. Stop there: do not cut into the lower fruit body.
Layers: This is one manual slit. No paper is removed; the lower body remains joined.
Check: Two crown halves can move separately above the marked stop.

Spread the left crown half
From the slit stop, make a crease sloping upward to the left at 45 degrees until it meets the left edge. Fold the upper-left crown packet outward and down.
Layers: Move all layers on the left side of the slit above this diagonal; keep the right half still.
Check: The left cut tip projects horizontally outward.

Spread the right crown half
Mirror the 45-degree line from the slit stop up toward the right edge. Fold the right crown packet outward and down.
Layers: Move the complete right cut half; leave the left crown still.
Check: Two short wings spread from the top of the fruit.

Fold the left crown end inward
Mark a vertical line 0.85 inches (about 2.16 cm) left of the original center line. Fold the leftmost crown tip rightward across that line.
Layers: Move only the left spread crown packet.
Check: Its free point reaches the opposite side of the crown.

Fold the right crown end inward
Repeat on a vertical line 0.85 inches right of center. Fold the rightmost tip leftward over the first flap.
Layers: Move only the right spread crown packet.
Check: Two crossed triangular flaps lie above the fruit.

Raise the front leaf point
Find the lower right corner of the crossed crown. From that corner, mark a crease rising 3 units for every 4 units to the left until it meets the upper sloping edge. Fold the free left-pointing tip up on this line.
Layers: Move only the front flap made in the previous step, including its hidden layers.
Check: A tall crown point rises just right of center; a shorter outside point remains.
Explore this step ↑STEP 15 · Origami Club Pineapple
Raise the other leaf point
Mirror the crease from the lower left crown corner, rising 3 units for every 4 units to the right. Fold the remaining right-pointing tip upward.
Layers: Move only the other inward-folded crown flap. Keep the first tall leaf still.
Check: The crown has two taller inner points and two shorter outer points.
Explore this step ↑STEP 16 · Origami Club Pineapple
Turn to the fruit face
Turn the entire pineapple over from side to side. Keep the crown at the top and the flat base at the bottom.
Layers: Turn all paper together without opening the crown folds.
Check: The broad fruit body sits below four folded crown points.
Explore this step ↑STEP 17 · Origami Club Pineapple
Add optional rind lines
Leave the pineapple plain, or draw crossing diagonal lines on the broad fruit body as shown. Keep the folded crown clear.
Layers: No new cut or fold. The thin rind pattern is optional ink, not extra paper.
Check: The flat base, broad body and four real crown points complete the pineapple.

Source images, wording and code are not reproduced; the English instructions, geometry, SVG diagrams and PDF are original.
Adaptation: Retains the complete lower kite, whole turn, upper edge folds, shortened base, actual crown slit, outward crown halves, inward end folds, raised leaf points and final turnover. Paired actions are separated. For a six-inch square, the base crease is 55% of the original center-to-tip distance below center; the slit stops 40% of that distance above center. Crown ends fold inward on vertical lines 20% of that distance from center, then their free tips rise on 3:4-sloping hinges. These explicit landmarks adapt the source’s unmeasured dotted lines. The frontmost right flap is lifted before the left to avoid lifting buried paper. The cut is a discrete manual step with stationary paper and a marked stop, not a folding animation or disappearing material. Optional original rind lines are separate ink; the body and four crown points exist without them.
